RAMBO – Wagga Race comming up

There is the Wagga Round of the ‘RAMBO’ Series coming up on the 14th of July which will be held at Pomi on a short course (not the full 13km).

There are a number of categories for all riders, 3Hr Solo Male & Female, 3Hr Teams(relay), 1.5Hr Male & Female and a Junoirs (under 15). If you wish to race and not signed up for the series already there will be entries able to be taken on the day (get there early).

If you are unable to race please be aware that we will need some volunteers on the day to help out, we will appreciate any assistance given. We will post more in the next few weeks leading up to the event. Remember to keep this date Free!

NOW ON SATURDAY 22nd June !!!

Date: ^22nd June 2013 (Saturday)

Time: 10 am at the Shelter at the Main Gate on the eastern (golf club) side of Pomi.

MTB Wagga will be holding a Working Bee on the 1^st June 2013 that will be needing helpers to lend a hand in some track maintenance. The section of the course that we will be working on will be from “The Crossover” to “Lone Pine”.

The majority of the work will be focused on the bit after “The Limbo Tree”, “The Sand Trap”, “The Luge” and the entries into “Billy’s Bypass” and “Lone Pine”. The aim of this is to fix up a few unsafe areas before the up coming RAMBO event we are hosting and also making it a more enjoyable for us to ride.

Most tools are supplied by the Club but you can also bring your own hand tools to use, eg: Shovel, Rake, Pruning Saw etc. Please make sure if you are coming to wear appropriate clothing (work gloves) and foot wear for the work and conditions on the day. Please remember you may want to bring a water bottle and or light refreshments.

If you can only make it for a couple hours please don’t hesitate to come and help as we are aware that we all have lives out side of Mountain Biking. If you turn up after the meeting time there will be contact details at the gate so you can get directions to where we are working.

Also if you will be riding on this day that you not be able to set any speed records down this section. You can ride it but beware of the workers on the track.

RAMBO 2013

The RAMBO (Riverina Alpine Mountain Bike Open) series is on again this year. The first event is in Bright on the 14th April.

RAMBO is an interclub series of

five 3hr races between the mountain bike clubs in Wagga Wagga, Albury Wodonga, Bright, Beechworth and Mt Beauty. It is a great oportunity to ride some good, different tracks to spice up your riding.

Summer Sprint Series- Round 10

The last round for this series. It should probably have been called the Daylight Savings Series. There may be pizza after the event.

When: Tuesday 26th March 2013.

Where:Golf Club Driving Range at Pomi.

Parking: In front of the shelter. DO NOT park inside the golf course carpark as it closes at 7pm.

Time:6:30pm start, rego from 6pm.

Course: 2-3km section of track on the eastern side of Pomi that will be well suited to all levels of riders from beginners and “littlies” to the more experienced rider.

Format: Handicap system.

Cost: No cost if you have a current MTBA licence (must bring card with you). $20 cost for a day licence if you are not an MTBA member. $5 for kids without an MTBA

licence.

MTB Wagga Jersey and Nix

We are looking at ordering another batch of the outfits, but as there is minimums of 25 jerseys and/ or 25 pants we need to get an idea of the level of intrest before we proceed. Our previous order was well supported, however many people were keen to purchase a kit after the

initial pre orders were filled. This time we will be looking to fill the entire quota with pre orders.
The gear is made by Cannibal Clothing with some decent materials, (sizing a touch on the small side). Rough pricing will be $90 jersey. $100 nix and $110 bib nix. The kits can be viewed at the local bike shops (or out on the track). Please use the enquiry email or our facebook page to lodge your intrest with Andrew.
