2021 Winter STRAVA Series

Wagga Strava Series 2021

Want to get into mountain biking, but at your own pace and on your own timetable- then this is for you.

It involves you, on your bike, riding a set course each fortnight. You can ride whenever is convenient to you, as long as you’ve completed the course by 8 pm each Sunday.

You can ride each course as many times as you like- it can get a little addictive trying to beat your own and others times!!

Each new course will be posted on the Wagga MTB FB page and the Wagga MTB Strava group each fortnight. There will also be a map at the start of the loop and some markers out on course where the tracks not obvious.

Anyone wanting to join the local Wagga MTB Mountain bike Strava series should follow the following steps to get set up.

1. Make sure you are registered with Aus Cycle (lifestyle member) for insurance purposes, they have a 4-week free trial. https://www.auscycling.org.au/membership/lifestyle

2. Download the Strava app on your phone- you only need the free version!

3. To record your ride on Strava, ensure location services are on, press record, making

sure the timer starts.

4. Begin your race, and make sure your phone is somewhere that won't lose GPS

signal. ie. ( back pocket in backpack )

5. Never stop Strava until you are well clear of the end of the course, otherwise, it may

not record your ride.

6. Once you press stop and End, you can name your ride, post it and view your

completed segments and times.

Sunday afternoons 3pm there will be plenty of keen chaperones to get you started and help you find your way around the segment with riders meeting at the start of the Green Loop on the western side of Pommie for a pre-week demo loop starting 13th June.

Any more questions, feel free to message us and we will be happy to help.

Don’t forget:

1. Always ride within your ability.

2. This is not an organised event or race.

3. The tracks are not closed to other users, there are no Marshalls in place, no first aid.

Ride at your own risk, just as you do on any training ride.

4. For Safety, we recommend riding with at least one other person but keeping a

sensible distance.

5. If riding on your own, make sure someone knows your planned route and return time.

6. Record your ride on Strava and make sure it is uploaded before 8pm Sunday.

7. No creative shortcuts are allowed, keep to the trail! We will be checking your GPS data.

8. You can ride the course as many times as you wish, Strava will collate everyone's fastest time.

9. Have Fun.

Let us know if you have any questions.
